Homework Expectations

  • Check your child's planner each night. Look over their assignments for completion, accuracy, understanding and best effort. Then initial the planner.
  • Students are recommended to spend 60-90 minutes a day on homework.
  • Encourage focused on-task work time. Take short breaks every 20 minutes.
  • Once daily work is finished (math and reading) spend time working on long-term projects.
  • Sit down with your child to help them plan out long-term projects and afterschool activities on a monthly calendar.
  • If your child consistently has more or less than 60-90 minutes of homework, contact the child's teachers.
